{"id":648,"date":"2018-04-10T21:12:38","date_gmt":"2018-04-11T02:12:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nittanyvalley-eco.org\/?p=648"},"modified":"2018-04-10T21:12:38","modified_gmt":"2018-04-11T02:12:38","slug":"april-18-watershed-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nittanyvalley-eco.org\/index.php\/2018\/04\/10\/april-18-watershed-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"April 18 &#8211; Watershed Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Please find attached a flyer related to the April 18, 2018 watershed forum.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/stopnestlewaterextraction.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/04\/4-18-18-scwc-watershed-forum.pdf\">4.18.18 SCWC Watershed Forum<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This forum is being convened by the Spring Creek Watershed Commission, and facilitated by a Penn State Law\u00a0environmental mediation class being taught this semester as a Sustainable Communities Collaborative project.<\/p>\n<p>As noted in the flyer, the goal for the forum is to better understand participants\u2019 perspectives on current water-related topics; what they might imagine for the future; how we might get from the present to the future; and how people might wish to engage in watershed planning.<\/p>\n<p>By using facilitated breakout groups to allow people time to really discuss these topics, the watershed forum will help start a longer watershed planning process being conducted by the Spring Creek Watershed Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Details for the April 18, 2018 forum are below, and in the attached flyer.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday, April 18, 2018, 6:30\u20138:45 PM (light refreshments will be served)<\/li>\n<li>Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science (CPI), 540 N Harrison Rd, Bellefonte, PA (parking is free)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pennstatelaw.psu.edu\/form\/spring-creek-watershed-forum-registration\"><strong>RSVP online<\/strong><\/a> to ensure we have enough seats, handouts, and food<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All are welcome to participate in the discussions; please feel free to invite others who may also be interested.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, interested people are invited to learn more about the Spring Creek Watershed and to participate in an online discussion forum through a program called<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.placespeak.com\/en\/topic\/5684-spring-creek-watershed-study\/\">\u201cPlacespeak.\u201d<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The vision of Placespeak is to allow people to make a meaningful impact on the communities in which they live, work and play.
